Interesting video. Thanks for posting.

The commentator doesn't give proportions for their paste....I suspect it is a trade secret!

A bit of experimenting might get you close. The talc was a new one on me. Must give that a try.

You could try our article 'What paste to use' for some general information.

The talc will be added simply as a smoother, a form of ground chalk.  This can be added to the pulp mix directly or in the paste to help the stuff flow better.

Interesting, and informative, video!  Couldn't tell you what the proportions of the mixture should be, although I suspect you could guesstimate from the volumes in the bowl.

Re: Incomplete youtube vid on thick adhesive paste

Actually, the most significant ingredient in their paste/pulp is the paper or cardboard that is added.  You can see that it is really fluffy, almost like cotton wool.  It is very difficult to get it to this texture.  There used to be a source, many years ago, of milled paper that was almost like a dust but still fibrous.  I get my finest texture by soaking the paper in water and blitzing it with a paint mixer in a drill.  The resulting paste, drained of most of the water, would get a similar effect of strength, smoothness and malleability when mixed with the PVA and ground chalk.

Re: Incomplete youtube vid on thick adhesive paste

hmmmm!  That might be a very good idea.  Even if it isn't paper, as long as it is organic and fibrous and very fine, it should work.  You can but try.
