Details

Constructed for a pantomime, this is more of a head piece rather than an actual mask. Made from pulp (newspaper/pva/water mix). It was constructed in sections (rear head, snout, ears, crown, teeth). The pieces were then joined with more pulp, features addedand covered in recycled kitchen paper towel, streched and glued with pva & water. The whiskers were made by twisting strips of recycled kitchen paper towel soaked in a pva water mix. Unfortunately use took its toll and one by one the whiskers broke off. A section from an old pair of tights was used to attach the piece to the head of the actor.
The whole piece was painted using acrylic paints and features such as eyes, teeth, nose, the inside of the mouth and inside of ears were painted with glow in the dark colours. The punk ear spike came from the carburettor out of a Volvo and earing is gold.
