Mad Hippo

Once there was a boy who loved bed time stories. Once there was a mother who loved to tell stories. But the mom didn't understand why all the stories had to be about cute little bunnies who liked to hop and sing happy songs. So she chose the mad (angry) hippos to be the characters in her stories. They were always mad and they sang their little mad song. So when the time came to choose the first papier mache character the mad hippo was the natural selection.
Now it is time for the new generation...

Excellent form and I like the subtle purple/pink blushing on the body. Real wild hippos kill a lot of humans every year, so I think making an angry hippo is certainly appropriate.

Thanks for your comments. I really tried to do something fun but still capture some of the true colors.
I like to have diversity in children stories. Not all characters have to be nice and happy. So I tried to find a character that just wants to be mad - for no apparent reason.

He's wonderful! Love the "mad" blue eyes, his feet are perfect! He looks ready for a rampage!

Great. Yes, your animals have character. They must be very popular.
