I don't have much experience in antiquing.

The one thing I've done is painted an object, let it dry thoroughly, and then painting darker brown acrylic paint (sometimes thinned with water) over it, and rubbing the excess and high spots off, leaving the dark color in the crevices.  But I'm sure you know about that.

By the way, I love your work!  I especially like that rabbit!  But your angels are nice, too.  Very nice finishing.

thank you CatPerson...very much.I'm more a poet though than a Sculptor..got a lot to learn, don't think i'll ever quit learning new things.... glad to find a place where i can talk about sculpting..the family is truly tired of it, the mess, the time spent on it, everything . Not just everyone loves sculpting. It has overtaken my home..and i live in a house with 2 livingrooms and 2 unused bedrooms upstairs..it is everywhere.

Mostly I use wood stain. You can get it in different wood-colours.
Sometimes I use a certain wax (I think that is what you meant), it is dark and mostly used for furniture. I also tried Shellack but I didn´t work as I mentioned.

They way that Jacky does is the easiest, because you don´t have extra-costs for the wax etc. and you can choose the intensity of the colour easier.

Hope that helps,
Christina

I use antique bronze or antique copper shades of Acrylic. They works fine.

I don't do anything special, either dry brushing or washes with acrylic paint.  Silver/bronze/copper/gold paint dry-brushed over matte black makes a good worn metallic look for example.

I make use of a golden pain that gives my artwork an antique look. It makes my work click with my buyers.
