I have no idea the way you work to get that king of shape. This teapot looks soft melting, just as the Dali's pocket watch.

Hello Isabelle,
Thank you for the awesome compliment.
I work with pulp, a clay type of papier mache.
I start with a face: I use a plaster cast of my husbands face which I cover in a layer of pulp (over dry tissue paper so it does not stick to the cast), when it is dry it will have shrunk some and is a good fit for my own face (medium).
As soon as I have the face shape I build on and out in all directions slowly bit by bit, letting things dry as soon as it gets too soggy.
With this teapot I cellotaped a balloon to the back of the face to create a helmet. The snout and ear were modelled seperately and later pulped on. I use the oven a lot as well, to dry things on low heat, because when you dry things in the oven there is less chance of collapse.
Then I paste the thing in very fine pulp... I use my stick- blender to get the pulp as fine a possible, maybe mix a bit of plaster of paris in too, and then I sand and sand and sand.
